Cited for the leading role he played in the campaign for a Green Energy Act and his continuous contribution to community power, Kristopher Stevens, OSEA's executive director, has been selected as a finalist for the Excellence in Renewable Energy Award.
Presented by the publishers Renewable Energy World, the award is given to the top North American renewable energy leaders, innovations and projects of the year.

More than 560 nominations were received from readers for awards that will be given in 11 categories, including project of the year for solar, wind, biomass, geothermal and hydro; innovation awards for technology, policy/outreach and finance/business; and leadership awards for technology and finance/business. The nominations were vetted by editors who selected the finalists.

Kristopher is a finalist for the leadership award in policy and outreach, reflecting his influence in shaping the Ontario's Green Energy and Green Economy Act, which has made the province a continental leader in renewable energy. His citation also acknowledges his role in promoting community power and his tenacious advocacy on behalf of community groups that want to clear the air and reduce greenhouse gas emission by generating clean, sustainable electricity.

Despite his impressive credentials, Kristopher is up against some stiff competition. The nominations are for the highest calibre projects, innovations and leaders from North America in the renewable energy industry, according to Renewable Energy World. The winners in all categories will be announced on March 8th at the Renewable Energy World Conference and Expo, which takes place in Tampa, Florida.
