The World Wind Energy Conference
In June of 2008, the 7th World Wind Energy Conference (WWEC), co-hosted by OSEA and the World Wind Energy Association, and funded by the Government of Ontario, was held at the St. Lawrence College campus in Kingston, Ontario. The Conference was a huge success, with over 800 delegates from over 40 countries, 4 ministers, 100 presentations, experts and world-renowned speakers such as David Suzuki and Hermann Scheer.
Founded by the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), the World Wind Energy Conference is an internationally recognized event that draws delegates from public and private sectors around the world. WWEC 2008 built on past successes and provided a lively forum for global leaders and innovators to meet, discuss, and exchange ideas and experiences in the renewable and community power sector.
The 2008 WWEC agenda represented all renewable energy technologies for electricity generation and has been structured to address challenges, opportunities and best practices within international renewable and community power sectors.
