The Ottawa River Institute is a non-profit, charitable organization based in Pembroke, Ontario.Our mission is to foster sustainable communities and ecological integrity in the Ottawa River watershed. ORI sponsors a major energy conservation initiative in local elementary schools, and is in the process of raising awareness about sustainable energy and assessing the potential of various types of renewable energy in the Ottawa Valley. We also publish a regular newspaper column called "Watershed Ways" and attempt to foster appreciation of our watershed through an on-line art gallery at www.ottawariverinstitute.ca.
