OSEA works to initiate, facilitate and support the work of local sustainable energy organizations through membership services, province wide capacity building and non-partisan policy work.
Member Services
As an umbrella resource for community power in Ontario, OSEA provides a variety of services to its members including: a unified voice for addressing policy makers, working groups & workshops, templates, guidebooks, facilitating the sharing of documents and resources, along with a number of other services. Capacity Building
OSEA is working to catalyze the efforts of community organizers and raise awareness of the benefits of community power and renewable energy through various communication channels and by offering a variety of workshops and guidebooks on topics ranging from project start-up to green power technologies.
Policy & Communications
OSEA represents its membership of local citizens, First Nations and farmers as a unified public voice and leader in the field of community power and renewable energy. OSEA launched the Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program in December 2004 in order to create market opportunities for Local Ownership of Renewable Energy Projects.
